Post wedding thoughts
The weather was nice and had a slight (warm) breeze. The pictures I’ve looked at came out nice. The sigma 35mm f1.4 is a nice lens and lives up to the hype. It’s fast and sharp! The bokeh isn’t super creamy but is still nice. I’ll most likely rent it again for my trip. That’ll give me enough time to see if its worth buying or not. So far so good, just wished the focus ring wasn’t so stiff.

Pre wedding jitters
Got done packing and as usual I feel like I’m over killing it with gear. I rather be over packed than be lacking something.
Wish me luck! This is totally new territory for me and it scares me. I just have to trust my skills and have fun. Just breathe Matt, breathe…

Wedding Help
Question for those who have done a wedding. I’m looking at renting a lens or two and I’m wondering if I would need a wide angle? Could I get away with the 24-70 and 70-200? I got a 11-16 I could use on my D90. I think it would awesome because they are getting married under a huge oak tree. The issue is there is a few distractions. 1) a green house 2) part of a house/garage 3) a shed....

Random shenanigans
Trying out a new company that prints images on metal.I’m printing out an image from my co-worker’s wedding to give as a gift. She really like that picture and even made it her facebook cover page (booyah mr. bully photographer). Pretty excited to see how photos of people turn out on metal.
on another note, I’m still adjusting to this new camera, I find myself still stumbling...

What a day...
Sat down with my first “client”, by that I mean my best buddy and his future wife to discuss wedding ideas/plans. He and I go wayyyyyyyyy back to elementary school, been friends ever since! We talked about a timeline and roughly when the traditional shots will be taken. The most of the time taken was trying to figure out how to do the fun and unique shots. All the great ideas came from...

Über excited! I’m going to have a picture in a local magazine (with credit) and its not food related! It’s from that wedding I attended a few weekends ago.
I’ll take this as a sign to hurry and get a website going. I also may take the dive to go full frame. The next couple months should be busy for me and I’m happy about it!

Well it looks like I have to do watermarks like all the other photogs I’ve been following and that goes for Flickr too. I’m coming across a few images being used by local businesses. I didn’t give them permission nor did they credit me. No more free marketing! I really think the loophole is tumblr. I can save images while on my phone regardless if its on Flickr or not. I really hate watermarks and...
Post Wedding
Wedding photography is rather intimidating, the wedding photographer had a crew of people. He had 2 pro Nikon bodies equipped with 24-70 and 70-200 F2.8. His second shooter had a Canon 5D Mark ? with a 24-70? Their 3rd person was carrying a flash on monopod with a pocket wizard. Talk about rolling deep!
I don’t know if he was messing with me or not but there were points I wanted to...
